Am 7. April haben sich die Registrierungsbedingungen der eu-Domains geändert.


Bisher konnte man eu-domains nur für 1 Jahr registrieren.

Nachteil: Zum Beispiel nach einem Umzug erhält man nicht die aktuelle Rechnung des Providers. Folge: Domain wird gelöscht.

Ab dem 7. April 2011 kann man eu-domains für zwei und mehr Jahre, höchstens aber 10 Jahre registrieren.

Damit passen sich die eu-domains den Standards an, die bei den meisten anderen Domains üblich sind.

Neue Top Level Domains und Markenrecht

Ein Problem bei der Einführung der Neuen Top Level Domains ist die mögliche Verletzung von Markenrechten. Der Streit darüber könnte die Fertigstellung des Bewerberhandbuchs von ICANN so stark verzögern, dass ICANNs zügiger Einführungsplan für die Neuen Top Level Domains íns Stocken gerät.

Marken und Domains sind kein neues Thema.Die Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy von ICANN schützt die Rechte von Markeninhabern bei allen von ICANN verwalteten generischen Top Level Domains. Die Markenrechte beziehen sich auf die Inhalte links vom "." einer Domain.

Mit der Einführung neuer Top Level Domains stellen sich aber ganz andere Probleme. Es geht jetzt auch um den Markenschutz bei Domains rechts vom ".". Mit anderen Worten: Wie soll gewährleistet werden-unser Beispiel ist vollkommen fiktiv-, dass das Weltunternehmen Apple die Domain .apple bekommt und nicht die Apple Juice Company aus Sidney?

Dazu kommt das Problem der größeren Unübersichtlichkeit. Zur Zeit gibt es folgende generischen Domains:

Manche finden das schon sehr unübersichtlich. Aber in Zukunft wird es hunderte von Top Level Domains geben.

Wie sollen sich Markeninhabern schützen?

ICANN verpflichtet die Anbieter Neuer Top Level Domains Sunrise-Phasen speziell für Markeninhabern einzuführen. Dabei geht jetzt die Diskussion auch darüber, was eine Marke ist. Gelten nur registriete Marken? Müssen sie in Gebrauch sein? Sollen auch unregistrierte Marken gelten?

Eine weitere Möglichkeit für Markeninhabern sich zu schützen, werden defensive Registrations sein, die es dann Domaingrabbern auch unmöglich machen könnten, Domains zu registrieren, die nicht mit bekannten Marken identisch sind, aber im Domainnamen diese Markennamen enthalten.

ICANN Registrar Secura nimmt ab sofort Bestellungen von tel-Domains mit zwei Buchstaben und numerischen tel-domains entgegen. Die Vor-Registrierung ist kostenfrei, aber verbindlich.Die Kunden bezahlen nur für jede erfolgreich registrierte Domain.

Am 21.Juni 2011 werden tel-Domains mit zwei Buchstaben und numerische tel-Domains eingeführt. Die numerischen tel- domains dürfen ausschliesslich aus Zahlen bestehen, z.B. wie Telefonnummern,Bankleitzahlen und Postleitzahlen.

ICANN: Neue Top Level Domains Beginn eines neuen Zeitalters des Internet

Der ICANN-Board of Directors hat beschlossen, die sogenannten "Neuen Top Level Domains" einzuführen und das Bwerberhandbuch genehmigt. Der Vorstand stimmte mit 13 Stimmen dafür, eine Stimme war dagegen und es gab zwei Enthaltungen.

Während einer außerordentlichen Sitzung hat der Verwaltungsrat einen Plan genehmigt, der zu einem dramatischen Anstieg der Zahl der Internet-Domain-Namen-Endungen - sogenannte generische Top-Level-Domains (gTLDs) führen wird. Von derzeit 22 generische Top Level Domains, die so bekannte Domains umfasst wie zum Beispiel .com, org und . net, kann die Anzahl der TLDs auf mehrere hundert steigen.

    "ICANN hat das Internet der Namensgebung geöffnet, um die globale menschliche Phantasie zu entfesseln. Die heutige Entscheidung respektiert die Rechte aller Gruppen neue Top Level Domains in ihrer Sprache oder Schrift zu schaffen. Wir hoffen, das ermöglicht, daß das Domain Name System besser der gesamten Menschheit dient" , sagte Rod Beckstrom, Präsident und Chief Executive Officer von ICANN.

Die Neue Top Level Domains ändern die Art, wie Menschen sich Informationen über das Internet beschaffen und wie Unternehmen ihre Webpräsenz planen und strukturieren . Nahezu jedes Wort in jeder Sprache kann eine Internet-Adresse werden. Das bietet Organisationen und Firmen auf der ganzen Welt die Möglichkeit, ihre Marken, Produkte und Namen innovativ zu vermarkten.

    "Die heutige Entscheidung wird der Beginn eines neuen Internet-Zeitalter sein," erklärte Peter Dengate Thrush, Vorsitzender des ICANN-Board of Directors. "Wir haben der nächsten Generation eine Plattform für Kreativität und Inspiration zur Verfügung gestellt."

Die Entscheidung für die neuen Top Level Domains erfolgt nach vielen Jahren der Diskussion, Debatte und Beratung mit der Internet-Community, mit Konzernen und Regierungen. Im Bewerberhandbuch, das erklärt, wie man sich für eine neue Top Level Domain bewirbt, sind sieben wesentliche Änderungen aus mehr als 1.000 Kommentaren der Öffentlichkeit integriert worden. Große Anstrengungen wurden unternommen, die Anliegen aller Beteiligten zu berücksichtigen und sicherzustellen, dass die Sicherheit, Stabilität und Ausfallsicherheit des Internet nicht beeinträchtigt wird.

ICANN wird in Kürze eine weltweite Kampagne beginnen, um die Welt über diese dramatischen Veränderungen durch die Neuen Top Level Domains zu informieren und das Bewusstsein für die Chancen neuer Top Level Domains zu wecken.  Anträge für die neuen Top Level Domains durch die Sponsoren können vom 12. Januar 2012 bis zum 12 April 2012 gestellt werden. Vor-Registrierungen durch Endverbraucher sind z.B. bei ICANN Registrar Secura (http://www.domainregistry.de) bereits jetzt möglich.

Aero-domains- Domains by the aviation community for the aviation community

  With the increased sophistication of online technologies,
industry transition to Internet-style solutions is
inevitable. Business-to-business innovations based on the
use of the public Internet have expanded horizons, slashed
transaction costs and led to spectacular innovation.

However, in spite of this, three issues have created
difficulty for those using the Internet and the Web to
connect with customers and colleagues:

-visibility: how to create the simplest route for people to
get to your site

-brand protection and enhancement: how to retain control
over, and raise awareness of, your branding in every market
in which you operate

-cost efficiency: how to ensure that Internet technology

 Was kann passieren: Dreiste Mitwettbewerber sichern sich die freien Begriffe unter co.at und or.at Das gleichzeitige Auftauchen von den kennzeichnenden Begriffen bei der Konkurrenz in Suchmaschinen,Pressemitteilungen, Visitenkarten und Veröffentlichungen führt zu einer Verwirrung beim Publikum. Ergebnis: Die Marke, der Name und damit auch das Produkt oder die Dienstleistung sind in ihrer Wertigkeit beschädigt. Um die Lage zu klären, müssen oft gerichtliche Schritte eingeleitet werden, die ein Vielfaches der ursprünglichen Registrierungsgebühr kosten.

Cybersquatter und Domainhaendler registrieren die Marken, Namen und Begriffe der Firmen unter co.at und/oder or.at. Es gibt dann zwei Varianten: Der Cybersquatter bietet anschließend die Domain dem legitimen Besitzer zum Kauf an. Der legitime Besitzer muß ein Vielfaches der Registrierungsgebühr zahlen, um seinen Domainnamen zu kaufen. Die zweite Variante sieht so aus, daß der Cybersquatter die Domain dem allgemeinen Publikum anbietet. Wenn es sich um einen guten Begriff handelt, besteht dabei durchaus eine Verkaufschance. Kaeufer kann auch hier wieder der dreiste Konkurrent sein
oder ein anderer Spekulant sein, der die Domain weiterverkaufen moechte.

Startschuss f�r neue Top Level Domains wie .koeln und .muenchen

Der ICANN-Prozess der Einführung neuer Top Level Domains schreitet fort. Voraussichtlich im 3. oder 4.Quartal 2012 beginnen die Registrierungen unter den neuen Top Level Domains.

Bisher konnte eine Stadt wie Berlin z.B. Berlin.de oder Berlin.com registrieren.
Der Unterschied zur neuen Situation ist folgender: Eine Stadt oder Firma kann ihre eigene Top Level Domain bekommen.
Das sieht zum Beispiel dann aus wie .paris oder .berlin. Eine vollständige Domain würde beispielsweise dann
senat.berlin heissen.

Viele Experten sagen voraus, dass z.B.durch die Registrierung einer solchen lokalen Domain die lokale Identität und
Wirtschaft gestärkt werden kann. Dem stehen erhebliche Kosten gegebenüber. An Bewerbungskosten ist einschließlich technischer und juristischer
Beratungskosten mit ca. 300.000 EURO zu rechnen. Der administrative und technische Bertrieb der Domain kann bis zu 500.000 EURO pro Jahr verschlingen.

Während bisher nur eine begrenzte Anzahl neuer Top Level Domains eingeführt wurde, macht das neue Verfahren die Einführung einer grösseren Anzahl neuer Top Level Domains, z.B. von Städten wie
Berlin und Paris oder interessierten Organisationen und Firmen, möglich.


Interessenten können auf der Webseite von ICANN Registrar Secura ihren Namen unter den wichtigsten neuen Top Level Domains vor-registrieren. Die Vor-Registrierung ist kostenfrei, aber verbindlich.

Viele oesterreichische Firmen haben ihren Namen, wichtige Produkte und Dienstleistungen unter der at-domain gesichert. Was haeufig uebersehen wird: Der oesterreichische Namensraum kennt auch co.at und or.at.

Der ICANN-Registrar Secura (http://www.domainregistry.de) hat in einer Analyse festgestellt, daß viele oesterreichischen Firmen ihre wichtigen Marken, Namen, Produktbezeichnungen nicht unter co.at und .or.at geschützt haben. Nur ein Beispiel von vielen: Die Oberbank hat selbstverständlich oberbank.at registriert. Die domains oberbank.co.at und oberbank.or.at sind frei. Jeder könnte sich oberbank.co.at und oberbank.or.at sichern. Daß es auch anders geht, zeigt die oesterreichische Presseagentur APA: Sie hat sich -wie ein vorsichtiger Kaufmann- apa unter .at, .co.at und .or.at registrieren lassen.

 Was kann passieren: Dreiste Mitwettbewerber sichern sich die freien Begriffe unter co.at und or.at Das gleichzeitige Auftauchen von den kennzeichnenden Begriffen bei der Konkurrenz in Suchmaschinen,Pressemitteilungen, Visitenkarten und Veröffentlichungen führt zu einer Verwirrung beim Publikum. Ergebnis: Die Marke, der Name und damit auch das Produkt oder die Dienstleistung sind in ihrer Wertigkeit beschädigt. Um die Lage zu klären, müssen oft gerichtliche Schritte eingeleitet werden, die ein Vielfaches der ursprünglichen Registrierungsgebühr kosten.

Cybersquatter und Domainhaendler registrieren die Marken, Namen und Begriffe der Firmen unter co.at und/oder or.at. Es gibt dann zwei Varianten: Der Cybersquatter bietet anschließend die Domain dem legitimen Besitzer zum Kauf an. Der legitime Besitzer muß ein Vielfaches der Registrierungsgebühr zahlen, um seinen Domainnamen zu kaufen. Die zweite Variante sieht so aus, daß der Cybersquatter die Domain dem allgemeinen Publikum anbietet. Wenn es sich um einen guten Begriff handelt, besteht dabei durchaus eine Verkaufschance. Kaeufer kann auch hier wieder der dreiste Konkurrent sein
oder ein anderer Spekulant sein, der die Domain weiterverkaufen moechte.

Neue Top Level Domains und Markenrecht

Ein Problem bei der Einführung der Neuen Top Level Domains ist die mögliche Verletzung von Markenrechten. Der Streit darüber könnte die Fertigstellung des Bewerberhandbuchs von ICANN so stark verzögern, dass ICANNs zügiger Einführungsplan für die Neuen Top Level Domains íns Stocken gerät.

Marken und Domains sind kein neues Thema.Die Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy von ICANN schützt die Rechte von Markeninhabern bei allen von ICANN verwalteten generischen Top Level Domains. Die Markenrechte beziehen sich auf die Inhalte links vom "." einer Domain.

Mit der Einführung neuer Top Level Domains stellen sich aber ganz andere Probleme. Es geht jetzt auch um den Markenschutz bei Domains rechts vom ".". Mit anderen Worten: Wie soll gewährleistet werden-unser Beispiel ist vollkommen fiktiv-, dass das Weltunternehmen Apple die Domain .apple bekommt und nicht die Apple Juice Company aus Sidney?

Dazu kommt das Problem der größeren Unübersichtlichkeit. Zur Zeit gibt es folgende generischen Domains:

Manche finden das schon sehr unübersichtlich. Aber in Zukunft wird es hunderte von Top Level Domains geben.

Wie sollen sich Markeninhabern schützen?

ICANN verpflichtet die Anbieter Neuer Top Level Domains Sunrise-Phasen speziell für Markeninhabern einzuführen. Dabei geht jetzt die Diskussion auch darüber, was eine Marke ist. Gelten nur registriete Marken? Müssen sie in Gebrauch sein? Sollen auch unregistrierte Marken gelten?

Eine weitere Möglichkeit für Markeninhabern sich zu schützen, werden defensive Registrations sein, die es dann Domaingrabbern auch unmöglich machen könnten, Domains zu registrieren, die nicht mit bekannten Marken identisch sind, aber im Domainnamen diese Markennamen enthalten.

industry transition to Internet-style solutions is
